Fremontodendron mexicanum

A shrub for mild climates. This shrub is covered with yellow, saucer-shaped flowers in Spring and Summer. This species is similar to F. californicum but has a brownish 'felt' on the underside of its leaves intead of a white felt. It is known from just a few sites near San Diego, California and is now endangered in the wild. Visited by bumblebees.
