School and group Visits
School trips to the butterfly house
An excursion to the butterfly house provides an ideal learning experience for pupils of any age. This butterfly house has specialised in giving educational tours around its exhibit. The combination of plants and insects provide a wealth of examples to complement school science and biology. The tours cover Key Stages 1 & 2 for insect life cycles, classification and living organisms. The hothouse atmosphere and giant foliage plants give a first-hand introduction to a tropical rain forest environment. Weather permitting, the trip can finish of with a bug hunt in the wildlife garden or neighbouring woodlands are also available. The tours are led by Neil Gale, a rainforest ecologist. More advanced tours can be tailored to a special theme such as rain forests, conservation, evolution, ecology, etc. 10% off for Schools from Mid Wales |
