The Garden

​The outside garden mirrors what you have on the inside– lush tropical foliage and butterfly plants. Giant-leaved rice paper plants and Ensete Bananas form an exotic backdrop. There is a butterfly garden with the largest collection of Buddlejas in Wales, as well as other butterfly-attracting plants such as mints and asters attract a host of native Butterflies.

There are several individual collections of rare plants in the front and around the back. The first ten years of the Trust were spent scouring the the gardens of the UK for unusual plants which were brought back and grown on.  At the last count we had 800 species of plants in quite a compact space, 80 of these being Buddlejas.  Other collections are of Brugmansias, Begonias, and Passion plants.  Some of these unusual varieties are sold in our plant sales area.
